Our ethos is to provide an excellent standard of care to our patients whilst creating a really inviting, friendly and open practice atmosphere. We want our team to enjoy their time at work and are always keen to support further development.

We are looking for an RVN who is confident with all aspects of nursing in general practice. We are a busy, forward thinking practice offering lots of opportunities to learn and advance your skills.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • To work as an active member of the clinical support team
  • To take part in the full nursing rota including duties such as consulting, anaesthetics, managing recovery, inpatient care, stock control and general housekeeping.
  • Working closely with our experienced vets and client care team to provide an excellent service to clients and the highest standards of patient care.

Our ideal candidate will be committed, enthusiastic, hardworking, empathetic, with a good sense of humour and a drive to put our patients at the heart of everything they do.

What makes us different?

In addition to what you might expect from a local vet, our highly skilled team led by certificate holder Eric, are able to offer our clients specialist services including complex orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, BOAS management & surgery, laparoscopy, emergency medicine, ultrasound, dental x-ray, laser therapy and complex dental surgeries, etc. Our RVN’s take an active role in supporting our vets during surgery and patient care, and our case load is often interesting and varied.

The role is for 40 hours/week over 5 days with some flexibility required when necessary. This will include 1:4 Saturday mornings, no out of hours and no Sundays.

You will be rewarded with a competitive salary between £25,000 and £28,000 depending on experience and length of qualification. You will be supported with CPD and will have access to company benefits such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts, including up to 20% off at Pets at Home. You will also have a day off on your birthday and after one year of service you will get an extra week of holiday entitlement. We also have our Winter ball and various social events during the year to look forward to.

We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference, so if you meet our role requirements or want to chat further about this role we’d love to hear from you.

Location: S60 2AY

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
