- Permanent, Part-time
- £30000 - £35000
Job Description
If you're an experienced and passionate RVN looking for a fulfilling role within a warm and welcoming team, we’d love to hear from you! At Burgess Hill, we’re a locally owned veterinary practice supported by a larger organisation, providing the best of both worlds.
Why Join Us?
At Burgess Hill, we’re more than just colleagues—we’re a close-knit family. Our team includes
- 9 vets, including certificate holders
- 8 qualified nurses, including certificate holders
- 2 trainee nurses
- 3 VCAs (2 are soon-to-be trainees!)
- An exceptional front-of-house team.
Our nursing team stands out for their expertise, teamwork, and enthusiasm. Many of our RVNs hold advanced qualifications and bring their experience of time in referral centres to our practice.
Nurses are actively involved in consulting, and this is an area we are currently developing. We are lucky to run a wide range of nurse clinics including laser, second vaccinations and behaviour. Personal progression is important to us and so we try our best to ensure our colleagues get to spend more time in the areas that interest them wherever possible. CPD is actively encouraged, with certificates and further education supported and funded.
Our state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility is a pleasure to work in, with digital X-ray, ultrasonography, and in-house laboratory facilities. A recent expansion and full refit have created a bright, clean, and modern working environment.
At our practice, compassionate care and comprehensive workups are at the heart of what we do. With a diverse and busy caseload, we offer an ideal environment to grow and excel while making a real difference for our patients and their families.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced RVN to join our supportive team. You’ll be:
- Skilled in all aspects of veterinary nursing, with a passion for delivering excellent patient and client care. We’re committed to helping you utilise your professional skills and pursue further qualifications that benefit both you and the practice.
- A great communicator and highly organised, thriving in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Keen to support the practice as a business and contribute to motivating the team to achieve personal and practice improvement.
- Ideally you will be a Clinical Coach—or excited to train as one. You’ll play a key role in supporting our student nurses alongside other experienced RVNs.
About the Role
This is a part-time position working 2-3 days a week plus one weekend per month however we can be flexible so if you’re looking for full time hours then please get in touch!
Shifts tend to be 8am – 6pm or 10am – 8pm and we try to only do one late per week. We do however understand the importance of a work/life balance and are happy to tailor your hours to suit your lifestyle. Let’s talk about what works for you!
We tend to have our shifts on a rota of either consults, theatre, inpatient care or prep so you are able to get involved in a bit of everything however we do arrange this so you can focus more on the areas you enjoy.
