Part-time Veterinary Care Assistant 

Here at Airdrie Vets4Pets, we are looking for a part time Veterinary Care Assistance with at least 1 year experience to join our team. 

About Our Practice 
The practice opened in 2012 so we have a large loyal client base and see a wide variety of interesting cases. The previous owner decided to step down in 2022 and the practice was bought by Jenny, Andrea, & Jane in 2024. Between the 3 of us, we have over 50 years of experience working in the veterinary industry. We have worked in different types of practice and this has giving us insight into what it takes to have a healthy, enjoyable and productive work environment.  We strive to make Airdrie Vets4Pets a place where employees feel supported, valued, can be themselves, have a good work life balance and genuinely enjoy coming to work. 

Our team is made up of 5 Vets, 4 Nurses, 1 SVN, 4 Client Care Advisors and a Practice Manager. We are a close knit team who enjoy meeting outside of work too. We have started a book club who meets monthly and host games nights in the practice a couple times of year. 

The Role 
The position is part time (20-25 hours). You would be working Monday-Friday 9:30am-2:30pm. There is some flexibility in this.

Day to day responsibilities would include:

• Assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment
• Cleaning, walking and feeding patients
• Assisting nurses with in-patient care
• Running in house laboratory tests
• Setting up theatre for operations
• Assisting with prepping patients for surgery
• Stock control including checking orders , putting away stock and restocking consult rooms and prep
• General cleaning

Additional you may be helping out on reception- answering phones, taking payments and booking appointments. This is not on a daily basis and only when reception is short staffed.
