Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive 2nd year or advanced 1st year Student Veterinary Nurse to join our expanding and friendly team on a full-time basis.
You will be heavily supported in your studies by a close team including our Practice Manager, 2 permanent Vets, 3 RVN's, 1 soon to qualify SVN and 4 Client Care Coordinators.
We are a busy practice performing multiple soft-tissue/orthopaedic surgeries daily, we offer in-house dentistry, radiography, ultrasonography, blood/laboratory testing and a vast range of nursing consults whilst striving for gold standard and having patient welfare and fear-free practice and the forefront of the care we provide.
Our nursing team are all involved in these cases meaning there are significant opportunities to scrub into theatre, assist with complex anaesthetics and help with medical investigations and inpatient care, along with a range of nurse clinic appointments. This would allow many opportunities to fulfil any college requirements.
We are happy to support all staff members with opportunities for further development once qualified and we offer a healthy CPD allowance.
This role is full time based on 40 hours a week. As training and studies progress you will become part of the nursing weekend rota.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the clinical and non-clinical team members to deliver the best levels of patient and customer care, taking full ownership of tasks and responsibilities
- Ensuring that you complete your nursing qualification and obligations to your college
- Comply with all policies and procedures within the surgery, including Health and Safety Regulations and keeping accurate records.
- Assist the Veterinary Surgeon during surgical and medical procedures.
- Provide in-patient ward care, medical treatment and nursing consultations.
- Communicate effectively within the team and with the general public.
